I'm in the process of cutting what looks like a couple of miles worth of vines growing all around my house. I've used them in the past to make baskets but have way more than I'll ever need. There is honeysuckle, Virginia creeper, trumpet vine, grape vine, something I can't identify (and even some poison ivy). I even have some blackberry canes. I'm cutting the vines and rolling them into bundles. They should be perfect for baskets and wreaths. They should be soaked in water before and during basket weaving. Honeysuckle can be boiled for a few minutes to remove the bark. I've made baskets in the past from honeysuckle, grape vine, khudzu and blackberry canes. The vines are free. I hope someone will use them. I'm 35 miles east of Raleigh.
