On Sunday, Sept. 27th from 11am to 4pm the Thirteenth Annual
FARM FEST will take place at Rising Meadow Farm!
FARM FEST IS A Celebration of Food and Fiber - everything homegrown, homemade, handmade - the Vendors are farmers, fiber artists and fine artisans. Their products range from raw fiber and handmade items to food items like honey, jams and jellies - there's just not enough space here to list them all - just make sure you have your gift list ready!
Lunch will be offered starting at 11:30am from a food truck -
SoomSoom Pita Pockets from Durham - and from Scratch Bakery from Durham - both use local food and are fabulous! Beverages and Homeland Creamery Ice Cream of course! We'll be cooking lamb samples all day and sharing favorite recipes -
Fiber animals, Sheep Dog Demonstrations ( 11:30am and
2:00pm), Shearing Demonstration ( 3:00pm) and of course music all day under the big tent - the Scottish Fiddlers, Tommy Routh and friends and Reel Shady - Some good "toe tapping" sounds! Don't forget to visit Goat Lady Dairy down the road for their Fall Open Farm - 12noon to 5pm - They'll have a food truck, goats, chickens, gardens, a local potter,meat from a local farm - and of course cheese!
This is a Rain or Shine event. There is no admission charge. And no pets. Bring your chairs, blankets - but mainly yourselves - and enjoy a beautiful day in the country!
