A Very Odd Table

My better half had the opportunity to have to timbers from an old family home ( built around 1815) and wanted something made from the timbers. As you can see in the pictures, these were ax hewn or hand sawn depending on the side. All the timber joints were mortise and tenon and no two were even close to the same dimensions. To make something, I did not want to cut any of the "character" out so came up with a piece that is unusual, but displays the wood timbers and the joinery. The legs are from some western cedar I was given and are made by gluing 4 pieces together. The reason for this is so I could scroll saw some patterns into the legs that point to the story of the house. The cross and dove are from a Huguenot Cross design (I could not remotely get the detail of the rest of the cross in the cuts); the bell represents the Liberty Bell because they came to SC for religious liberty; and the bottom image is a cotton boule which ultimately became the money crop for this land.
