I couldn't find stop hinges that would work in the orientation I needed, so...shoestrings to the rescue! Open to ideas for other solutions I could've used. Chains I think would interfered with the closing of the lid. Thanks.
This is a desk i made for my office and is my first project using a jointer and planer and domino. I used 7 pieces for the top, as i had cut them for another project (i also like the direction of the grain better in that direction).
My interpretation of the Freeman Ford serving table, designed by Greene and Greene in 1908, made of sapele, with ebony plugs and splines. Curved aprons and rails with cloud lifts are a departure from the Greenes' design.
