no Rest For the weary

tool rest base
I have a Delta 46-111 lathe and I want to quick release tool rest base for it. Mine has to be tightened and loosened with a wrench and the nut and wrench get in the way when turning bowls. I ordered the 46-707 tool rest base from Delta but it was much too large for the lathe. Any suggestions?- rjdavis

I took a beginner's turning class from Alan Leland a while ago (I was terrible). One of the things that drove me crazy during the class and got me wondering was the tool rest.
