landscape

wood for landscape edging?

I'm planning to edge my landscaped areas with 1 x 4 on edge set in the ground, and staked as needed. Seen it done with pressure treated and I guess I can go to the BORG and follow that route. Interested in if anyone here can suggest other woods and most important source for alternatives. Cedar...

Free Landscape timbers

All, was driving through the Wal-Mart parking lot on Glennwood/Davis Circle in Raleighwood last night and they had a stack of maybe 2-3 dozen of these for free. They appeared to be the 3"x5" size and 6' or 8' in length. Sorry, didn't have a chance to post last night and I've been tied up at...

Landscape block & mulch

so we're going to redo the landscaping at our house and do it up right so to speak this time. I'm going to need roughly 250 sandcastle 12" block and 70 or so pieces of edging along with 8.5 cubic yards of mulch. Anybody know a mulch service that does the blow in service in the unversity area...

OT: Landscape trees at Lowes are 50% off

It'll take a while for them to turn into usable lumber, but most trees at Lowes stores are 50% off. Japanese maples and magnolias seem to be excluded. I picked up 5 Japanese cherries for less than $10 each. There is a $10 off $50 coupon out there too. Then I went out and hugged my 32" dia...
