    I was working my way through some rough lumber I had, when I planed my way to this dark wood in a pile of oak. Then I found these pieces with the same color wood and what appears to be white sapwood. Any idea what I have found in my stash?

    Need Help Id'ing Wood

    I'm fairly sure this is chestnut, but i'm not always right! I have a friend with a few 6/4X12"X16' boards of this and one at 4/4"x40"x9'. He is either wanting to sell or have me make a keepsake for his family. Anyone have an idea of what it's worth?
