Sewing Machine Console

This is a replacement for a deteriorated console I made over 10 years ago, which became broken during our most recent move. The original was made from recycled parts of a discarded Melamine desk. This version has SPF legs, shop-grade birch ply top, and Oak aprons. The top has been upgraded to core-box construction, by adding 3/4 inch square cores and a 1/2" MDF bottom. The flex lamp came from K-Mart, and the twin cone holder is home-made of Masonite, threaded rod, brass wire, hinge pins and lamp tubing and base from a commercial machine. The zig-zag head is a domestic Singer Touch & Sew.
