This was the third try. I needed the top of the A-frame to be fastened to the side and maintain the 5 deg bevel. Clamps alone wouldn't do it So I made a temp ledger board with the corecct bevel on the top this worked well. So before disassenling and gluing I drilled pilot holes every six inches from the other side in to the horizontal piece.
