Hope this is ok to post here
In Native American Culture (I'm part Cherokee on Mom's side) and Greek Mythology and Folklore, Different Wood Species Offer different properties and effects.
Stuff like this fascinates me and here is 10 Wood Species I had on hand in the shop to quickly show this. I'll go from top to bottom in case anyone cannot read my left hand writing lol.
1.) Cedar - Offers Protective Spirits
2.) Ash - Wards Off Evil Spirits
3.) Walnut - Is A Sign Of Wisdom
4.) Poplar - Offers Connection To The Ancestors / Afterlife
5.) Ambrosia Maple - Offers Protection From Danger
6.) Cherry - Represents Revival And New Beginnings
7.) Pine - Represents Eternal Life And Immortality
8.) Red Oak - A Symbol Of Passion And Love
9.) Padauk - Is A Symbol Of Strength
10.) Purple Heart - Enhances Creative Energy
Depending on the culture, the woods can be burned (like sage) or carried in jewelry or pockets to unlock their elements.
Now, I am a man of Faith. But, I do find stuff like this very fascinating.
