I'm not sure I can explain what I am looking for but here goes...

I have an idea for a wood pen that will have two letters cut out 1/2 the depth of the top of the blank (that part is taken care off).

So I need to find a product that I can fill in the void with that will be a contrasting color and look nice after the blank is turned. Something liquid or powder that can be hardened so it can be turned along with the wood. I thought about dying some 5 minuted epoxy mixed but not sure the color will be uniform.

Any ideas....?

Dave, I had looked at CSUSA web site and many others but did not see the page you provided. That is the product I was looking for.

Thanks for the link.

Dolan, colored epoxy will work very well, as will colored PR resin used for casting. Or you could use crushed stone dust or just about any granular material that you could put in the void and soak with thin CA.

Here's some options from CSUSA -
