Storage/Window Bench Unit

We have our playroom that is 12' wide and has a window in the middle aprox. 16'' from the floor.

My wife is wanting to put a storage unit with shelves, but also have the top be able to be sitting room. She would like it to be open without doors.

I havent ever built anything like this before. Anyone have any plans ( i know dimensions will be different) or anything to help me go in the right direction.

Sounds basically like a "mini" bookcase unit. I haven't built one like that, but it shouldn't be too hard to do. Just make sure your design has enough support for the top to handle the weight of someone sitting on it.

I have some plans for a closed window seat, and some plans for an open "low" bookcase. You can combine the two plans. I have also made my own design for a very similar project that I am doing for my MIL. PM me if you are interested in the plans, and I can email you the info.
