Promotion Delay

I signed up as a new member a few days ago then made a post in the who-we-are section. Since then I have made over 10 postings, mostly as replies to existing threads but still haven't been promoted to User. Do I have to create 5 new threads to qualify or will the promotions eventually happen.

Right now, it is a manual process, our automated script is not working. However, in addition to the 5 posts, there is a 30 day waiting period. We had a bad instance with a scammer, which forced us into the 30 day waiting period.
