Here is a pic of my "new" dovetail saw. This is something I started making a couple years ago. I made acquaintance with a gentleman named Alan DuBoff who offered some very nice saw nuts. Imagine my surprise when I open a box to find an entire saw kit!!!

The blade, back, and nuts are from him. He also sent a maple handle cutout, but I had started one from walnut and decided to use it. The handle was rasped and sanded to shape, finished with garnet shellac and wax.

I didn't get things lined up as I would have liked, but it seems to work well!

How well does it cut?

That's not the one you were talking about filing the teeth on is it?

This is the one, but the blade that was sent got used instead, may still try completing the one I started too.

That's a great-looking saw! One of the projects on my list is to use some knarly walnut I've got for some new handles for a couple of old saws I've accumulated. I can only hope mine will look as nice as yours.
