Does anyone here have this model or can comment on it? I'm thinking in comparison to a Dewalt DW788. (Price being one factor.)

Steve, if you are really wanting to get into scrolling I would go with the DeWalt - far better machine IMHO - this Hitachi would be good for someone that wants to try it and if doesn't like can sell it and make their money back or to have one for those occasional projects where they have something that need to be scrolled

Steve , you simply cannot go wrong with the Dewalt if you can afford it :icon_thum
Try to find a " package deal " with the stand and light . You'll be glad you did and won't have to spend the money later for the accessories
