A few of my Forstner bit labels had gotten marred so I looked around for some damage protection. Found some clear 3/4" heat shrink tubing with a 50% shrink on Amazon and installed some today. Hoping that will work.

I’ve never seen clear heat shrink tubing, but have never thought to look. Great idea and would be a boon for my mixture of fractional and metric sizes.

With small (<1” or so) Forstners, I can eyeball the size, but that gets much harder with larger sizes. The labels are especially handy when you have several out of the box, or worse, spill the box.

If you happen to have a label maker, that’s another way to do it. Could certainly peel off, but since not cutting or rubbing on the shaft it has always been a good solution for me.
