Adding a picture to a post

How do I add a photo to a post that I am writing?
I have the pic on my desktop for easy access.
I've tried all the icons at the top of the post with no success.
I see many posts with pics attached; what am I missing?

1. Click on an image
2. Select "copy image"
3. Click where you want the image
4. Select "paste"
5. Resize image by clicking on it and drag a corner in or out as desired

When you are creating a post, you can also use the icons above the text entry. The 4th icon from the left will also let you choose and select a photo to attach.

It just worked with you, but it absolutely will not work when responding to a post from another user.

Click Attach files (it has a paper clip).
