...but no more. Just put it on last week. ThankfulI missed the nail with the chainsaw! This tree has had more than one nail and a fair share of barb wire. This is the first one that got me. Seemed to have a piece of plastic buried with the nail. And a fat nail it was.

I did a core and got 3 rouged bowl out of the blank. Alas, could not get the staining from the nail in any of the bowls.

Wow. That is a big nail.
I've hit a few nails in my time and it is annoying. I once hit three nails from one log. Two blades were trashed. I gave up on the beautiful cherry log sections and sent them off for firewood.

Metal detectors are pretty cheap now and work well.

A bit of barb-wire got me once. Bought a detector but it is easy to forget to use it.
