Absolutely beautiful, Donn! You've created an heirloom. I completely agree with your comment about wanting to make a second one. You learn so much the first time you want to have another try.

I’m sure that seeing the fallen clock was more painful than your injuries. I’m glad that you’re both ok. Beautiful work!

Glad you and the clock are OK, someday someone needs to explain the physics as to why a ladder likes to take a trip like that, I am sure it has to to do with levers, arms, weight position and all that, it just hurts! No, I really do not want or need to know why - keep focused on this really great clock.

The clock is real superb . I started one around 1974, had the movement, glass, all the clock parts. Started on the base and then saw a new hobby - metal working building outdoor rideable live steam locomotives. Wood shop stuff relegated to 2nd place. Over the years, lately have done a little more. I think that clock needs to be finished - now to find everything after three home moves and as many shop rebuilds.

Again a fine job, I am sure it will find a place in your home to be admired.

Awesome work Donn! One of those projects that taxes areas outside of the comfort zones I am sure. The end result is amazing. Hopefully your heel healed quickly and the clock shows no obvious results.

Thanks to all for viewing this post and providing such positive comments. As with most all of my projects the clock has a few flaws, but my contention is that these add character. Some have suggested that they have had a grandfather clock on their build list; it will be awesome to see other clocks posted. I purchased my plans and all subsequent supplies (movement, glass, etc.) from Arek's Murray Clocks. The plan itself is not the easiest to follow, which led to a bit of frustration; but, Arek is wonderful to work with.

I'm getting closer to completion of my clock.
