Musical Instruments being built in Colonial Williamsburg

    https://journeymansjournel.wordpress...george-wilson/

Over in Sawmill Creek Forum is a man who used to build instruments in the CW settlement. The man I am talking about is George Wilson who visits SMC from time to time. The above address has some interesting information on glue, veneer, boiling walnut, and other things that might interest you if you have a little time.

George eventually left the musical instrument shop/Hay shop to move on to the shop behind the scenes to make period correct tools for the workers to use instead of the artifacts. On a visit to CW a while back I got up with George for a tour of the shop he worked in with John Laubach from the rifle shop days. Between the 2 men, they did some very impressive work.

Happy viewing and notice they stay close to the warm fireplace in the cold shop while glueing.

I don't know if I'd have the patience for that. I'd be tempted to find someone with a CNC router and just knock it out in 15 minutes.
