    First project for 2019

Wife has been asking for a headboard for the spare bedroom. She gave me some pics of what she wanted, so I just did this from scratch.

2 Firsts on this project... 1st in 2019 and 1st project started and finished in one day! Whoopee.

Used leftover pine that I had milled here at the farm 2 years ago. I actually made one last weekend and was told it was TOO Rustic. She didn't want a finished wood look, but my 1st try was 'too rough' using some old barn wood I had. I tried lol.

I took the rough cut pine and sanded it down with some #80 sand paper to leave a few rough spots. Sprayed a little black paint at the edges and a few small holes, then a few thin layers of the white paint to try and get a distressed look. She was happy with the 2nd version.

Can't seem to get the first one to load up, so no pics of it for now.

Looks distressed to me, David. Good work.
The thing that holds up all my woodworking is simply getting started.

Nicely done David. Is pic #1 the undistressed pine after sanding but before finishing to get pic #2?

    Love the look David!
Experience is a hard teacher; she gives the test first, and the lesson later.

Yes. I had an in progress photo, but couldnt get it from my phone to my laptop. Was also going to show the first version, but had similar transfer issues.
