3" Jet Ocillating Spindle sander "run out"

Hi Folks, do any of you have problems with your larger spindles vibrating? The 2" and smaller work fine. I have tried to turn them on the lathe to minimize run out, do yall have any tricks? I have the Jet table top model.

Have the same model. It did not come with a 3" spindle, but I purchased one, and it does not vibrate. If you can find someone nearby that has a 3", borrow it and see if it vibrates. That way you can tell if it's the spindle or the spindle base. Also, check inside the spindle base with a flashlight and make sure it's free of debris. Also, Jet has been OK to deal with for me. Jet main number for tech questions: 800-274-6846.

I use this sander all the time and it performs very well. Hope you get it figured out.

No problem with mine. I also use the 3 in. My problem with a Jet product is their buffer. Thay have designed a good system, but the main shaft is 1 in., and they do not sell a 1 in. buffer pad. Everything is 3/4in.
