Skip that offer, Yogi. You can find a better lathe for about $100 more if you are patient enough.

Not great value in that lathe, I'd pass on it.

Re: Lathe + chisels for 250$

To me this might be worth considering if you REALLY need a copy lathe for some reason.

The lathe itself is very cheap and very common. I bought one for $25 without the motor, but they are often available for about $75 with motor.

If you ever consider buying a tube bed lathe like this, be sure to check the key on the bottom. It is a common point of failure.

The chisels are pretty junky. They can be pressed into service if you don't have anything better, but you certainly would never seek these out.

Yogi, Are you wanting to use the copy crafter?

BTW, I agree those tube bed lathes were pretty common back in the day. There are much better (for a variety of reasons) options that were produced since then.

Re: Lathe + chisels for 250$

Thanks everyone. I'm not particularly interested in a copy crafter, I am looking for a lathe and chisel set though.

I'm going to pass on this "offer" based on the feedback here.
