The Woodworking Show Returns to Charlotte - March 2019

The Woodworking Shows recently released schedule shows them returning to Charlotte the last weekend in March 2019. I don't understand their scheduling. First they do Atlanta, next Washington, and then back to Charlotte. Wouldn't it have been simpler to just stop in Charlotte? I've been to Atlanta, Fredrickburg, Chantilly (DC,) Greensboro, Winston Salem, and Charlotte. Yes they did shows in both Greensboro and Winston Salem years ago. The WS show just happened to be when Wake Forest, Duke, Carolina and NC State had home football games, plus there was an air show at WS airport. At 2:00 PM on Saturday, you could have thrown a baseball down length of venue, and you would have only hit a vendor. I would really like to go to Baltimore, first weekend in January, as it's the largest of the shows. Before the internet, the show was the only place to see all the different vendors at one time. Times have changed!

Did that announcement happen to give the name of the venue where it will be held? Is it The Park as before?

Scheduling sales calls is called the Salesman's Delima. It is a statistics problem. The scheduling of these events is sort of like that. Has to do with venue availability also in this application I suspect.

OK, I'm enthused but there is no link on the web site for buying tickets for the Charlotte Show - it shows the same cities in the same order but there is no buy tickets for Charlotte (tickets can only be bought 30 days in advance on the web site).

Re: The Woodworking Show Returns to Charlotte - March 2019

I'm excited! I've wanted to attend the Baltimore Show with Dirk the last two or three years , but my schedule would not allow.
One question, is it worth attending more than one day?

I attended the last Charlotte show. NCWW had a booth. Anyway the answer is yes but only if you attend the seminars. Most of the worth while ones are an extra fee.

Re: The Woodworking Show Returns to Charlotte - March 2019

Unfortunately economic times has in the past forced them to cancel some sites. Occurred during the ongoing show season. That's most likely the reason tickets aren't available more than 30 days in advance. I like going to the FREE seminars. Almost always at least twice during the show, there will be two that are in same slot. So when we do Chantilly (DC), we spend night at local Hampton Inn, which is about a half mile from the show. Our daughter lives an hour west of the show. About four years ago, Friday of show was on daughter's birthday. All the way, LOML said she needed to call and wish her a happy birthday. Little did she know that daughter and SIL were going to meet us at the show. She was surprised when daughter called on cell phone and told wife she could hardly hear her. Told wife to go to front entrance and see if signal was better. (Can you hear me now?) Daughter and SIL were in lobby waiting. We got to spend evening together, and have a lazy Saturday breakfast at hotel. Both of my girls got a wonderful birthday gift.
