Basement Shop in Floyd - More Progress - Dust Collection
Made a lot of progress in the last week or so after the 4 day power outage and the 15" of snow a few weeks ago.
I got the Dust Collection Ductwork installed. I took a hint from Jeremy and Bill Clemmons as to how to install the main run. It is 6" snap together duct from Lowes. I used furring strips that I cut a 1/2" x 3/8" deep dado in. These were screwed into the rafters and then zip ties used to hang the duct. Turned out to be super easy compared to using the hanging straps normally used for the purpose. Took 24" zip ties to go around the 6" ductwork.
The ductwork all feeds back to the Laguna 2HP Cyclone.
First drop is the big Band Saw then the Table Saw (2-1/2" above and 4" below).
Then we hit the Jointer and Planer drop.
And around the corner to the Drum Sander, band Saw and disc sander. The Router table will be moved over to that portion of the shop as soon as I finish unpacking boxes and installing cabinets.
I'm still cluttered and still unpacking but it is coming along.
The lathe has its own small DC right next to it.Ban shredded cheese, make America grate again.

Re: Basement Shop in Floyd - More Progress - Dust Collection
Nice progress, Ken. Looking good.
I'll gladly tell you how I do something. Just please don't confuse that with the right way to do it, and almost certainly not the only way.

I'll go along with Bill, it's looking great Ken!
