    I agree with Willem, mineral spirits is probably the culprit.

    But here is just another thought.

    Sometimes the cloth or towel you use to wipe the surface prior to finish can leave a contaminant.

    Paper towels with a scent or colored design can cause problems.

    I have also seen microfiber towels cause a fish-eye problem, especially the ones labeled as polishing cloth.

    Also be careful if you wash and dry your rags. If you use dryer sheets, they may leave a contaminant - best to let them air dry
