In the old shop the ceiling wasn't finished so most of the DC Duct went between the rafters. In the new shop there is a finished ceiling so a new plan has to be devised. What Jeremy (who learned from Bill Clemmons) did was attach furring strips to the ceiling in line with the duct work. Dadoes are cut into the top of the strips to allow large zip ties to be run through them and the duct work held in place by the zip ties. In my case 24" zip ties are needed to contain 6" duct main runs. I'll take some pictures once I get started hanging the duct work.

Re: Got the final inspection certificate

Some pictures as promised. Still a lot to do but the equipment is in place - mostly - and usable.

With both lighting circuits on it is plenty bright in the shop.

With only the middle bulbs lit one can see clearly to walk through the area to the garage bay from the stairs on the other end of the room.

I'll probably put most of the cabinets in this back corner once I get them removed from Cary and transported here.

So far the jointer and planer sit around the pole in the center of the room. It was a good place to bring down the 240V circuits for them.

And the lathe is back in the corner of the El.

Hand tool workbench in front of the lathe. I think that's the best place for it for now, but we'll see what works. The lathe cabinet doubles as storage for the bench planes.

And the still cluttered office that I'm working on setting up.

A lot left to do but its coming together.

NICE! Looks like a great start. Love the wood walls, so easy to hang or attach to. Looks great!

Re: Got the final inspection certificate

Hank, there's finished laminate flooring over Dricore in the office area, but the shop is covered with DriCore R+ Sub-flooring. It has a foam layer covered by OSB. In the last shop I clear-coated it with Poly and it turned out to be the perfect camouflage for dropped screws, etc. So this time I painted it gray.

TEN, So far I've not put anything on the walls and I doubt if I will. They are kind of rough but I like the wood grain patterns in the T1-11 so definitely won't paint it - doesn't need protection from the elements since its indoors. If I did anything it would be to stain it lightly, but I think I'm just going to leave it rough. It feels right.

Yep, I really like that I can just put a screw into the wall anywhere to hang something like a bulletin board or white board or picture. I've been able to drill quarter inch holes about anywhere between studs and mount one of the pegboard hooks to hang small stuff also. Very handy. And there's always the studs behind the T1-11 for hanging heavy stuff like cabinets and clamp racks.

That's a great idea about the pegboard hooks. I had never thought about just drilling a hole for them. It's the simple things we overlook.
