The time has come close my shop

Decision made, we will be moving West to be closer to all the kids.

Where we are going, I will have access to a big community shop, so mine will no longer be needed. Once the house is sold I will have to get rid of all my machines, not sure yet how. 1/2 of new price, or auction? Time will tell.

House in the market here: www.19pinewilddrive.com

Once we land West, do I say goodbye to to NCWW, as I will no longer live in the State?

In the mean time keep the good work going, best forum in the country!

You still have ties to NC, you lived here! Several of our members live out of state, but have ties to NC.

I guess this will be both a sad and happy time for you. I have a very good friend that made a similar move to Az. to a 55 plus community with a well appointed shop. He kept his midi-lathe, scroll saw and some hand tools, enough to fit on a rolling cart. He said sometimes he just wants to sit in his own garage and piddle around like old times.

Definitely stay on NCWW, Willem. As others have said, it's a family no matter where you wander. How far west are you going?
I'll gladly tell you how I do something. Just please don't confuse that with the right way to do it, and almost certainly not the only way.

You're one of us Willem, now and forever. Enjoy your new home, and keep us updated on your projects, and tell us about the community shop. Lots of pics needed.

Sorry to hear you heading out. Best part of the internet is that you can be anywhere and still be part of a "community". Beautiful home you have there, you have a lot to offer the new buyer. Do keep us informed with what you decide for your shop.

The above has always been our official policy with regard to relocation out of state. We have never asked a member to leave the forum simply because they left our region as the ties and friendships forged persist long after the move elsewhere.

Take care and enjoy the time with your family out West!

To further echo Ethan. I handle all the out of state join requests. One of the first things I look for is a NC connection (past, present, or future). It is not the only thing I consider but it is the first hurtle.

    Willem,

Good luck in your new adventures but I can't believe no one has spoke of that BEAUTIFUL home you are selling! Wow!

Take care and make sure to come back and visit NC some.
