    Re: Picnic site

Here's the website of the park itself. I was there 3 years ago for their "crank up" and watched them fire up an old steam-powered sawmill that is onsite. Pretty awesome.

    Re: Picnic site

The Old Mill is cool, I don't think it is a picnic site though. They have 'events', and it is fun to go there. I am seeing most wanting to go back to Jordan Lake. It is my favorite too! I will be reserving it this week. I will wait for a few days to check out the rest of the comments.

    Re: Picnic site

Even though it is a long drive for me I think the Jordan Lake site is the best place for our picnic.

    Re: Picnic site

I have been around NCWW land a long time and have gone to many of these picnics. As a former Board member I was even responsible for 4 of these picnics. We (the NCWW BOD) have tried to move these further West but at the end of the day the best attended picnics have been either at one of the Jordan lake venues or Ritter Park in Cary.

I vote for Jordan Lake! That was a great setting and there was a tremendous turnout, IMHO.

I'll gladly tell you how I do something. Just please don't confuse that with the right way to do it, and almost certainly not the only way.

Another vote for Jordan Lake here. May 13th is a good day for me with my work schedule if thinking about dates yet.
    Thanks Berta!

    Re: Picnic site

Unfortunately Sam, May 14th is Mother's Day and a lot of people will be traveling that weekend. It will need to be the 6th or the 20th, I think Berta already chose one or the other of those. Hope your schedule can accommodate.

    Re: Picnic site

I will try to work something out. I am scheduled to work both of those dates but should be able to take a little vacation time to be able to make it to the picnic.
