Yellow wood

This is a not very good picture of some Osage Orange blanks ready to turn into bowls. They chip easily - somewhat brittle wood. Sorry for the poor picture quality.

I got the blanks at Klingspor in Raleigh a few years ago.

The wood I have is still wet and it turns easy. However it dulls my tools quick

We're getting closer to an id. Does the tree have man eating thorns on the branches? A few weeks and the leaves will be out fully so maybe get a few pics of those too.

I will check for the thorns tomorrow. I have surgery to amputate my finger next Wednesday so I may not be able to get any leaf pictures
