Hi,
I am brand new to the forum and hoping to get started on wood turning with a shopsmith I just restored. Does anyone know of a place in the Cary/Apex area to take classes? I have heard that there is a reopened Woodcraft(sp?) store on hwy 70 in Raleigh and thought that might be the most likely suspect.

Also of course any turners in the Cary area I would love to see what you are doing and how.

Thanks very much,
Jim Lee

Welcome Jim, I am glad that you could join us. Both Woodcraft and Klingspor are great places for turning classes. Although it might be a little while before the Woodcraft can start offering their classes as they just re-opened. There are also the Triangle Woodturners Assoc. and the NC Woodturners Assoc. that probably offer instructions. I can't seem to find any valid links to their webpages this morning.
And then there are members here. I am sure that someone in your area would be happy to show or give you a spin on their lathe to see the chips fly.
What type of turning are you interested in learning about??
Dave:)
