Can someone tell me a resource i can find the average wholesale cost for species grown in NC? Specifically Ive got a guy cutting white oak, and cedar for me and he is cutting it into 2" thick planks. So its all undried. Need to know prices for this so I dont get robbed.

IT all depends upon the grade.

Starting 8/4 WO drying in the middle of summer is a BAD IDEA. You're going to end up with a lot of surface checks and low grade lumber.

It's far better to mill the thickness that you plan to use or sell, versus milling thick and then resawing later.

Why do people cut and mill hardwood when the sap is up? Makes no sense and few buyers with a head on their shoulders will look twice at "summer milled plain cut wood" even for dirt low prices. Just wondering????
