Varnish in Smaller Container?

I don’t use a lot of varnish. It takes me a while to use a quart much less a gal. I might use 2 quarts a yr. Do you guys just go to paint store and buy empty cans from them? Will big box stores sell them to you? Or what else do you do to protect your varnish?
Thanks in advance!

Oh and yes, you can buy smaller cans and lids from a paint store or big box stores as well. But hobby stores will have them all so.

Bloxygen or the like (basically an inert gas that displaces the oxygen) sprayed into the container when closing can greatly reduce the amount of "skinning" on the top of the varnish. Organic coatings cure by oxidation, so removing the oxygen during storage prevents the top of the liquid from curing in the can.

Someone ( maybe Rockler?) sells a collapsible container that you can squeeze the air out. I hate the dreaded " varnish skin".
