Upson Nut Company No. 61

Visited a couple antique stores yesterday on my way back to New Bern from Winston Salem. At the Antique Market Place in Greensboro, I bought an Upson Nut Company No.61 two foot folding rule. From an on-line search, this was a pretty common rule made sometime between 1854 and 1911 when the company closed. I cleaned mine a little with some mineral spirits today and started using it on my current project. I've not had a folding rule before except the modern six foot carpenter's rule. This is nicer for the smaller work that I do.

Yep, I use a two foot rule for most projects. You found yourself a nice one.

Richo, wish you could tell us the history of that rule. Over 100 years old and still looking like it could do a good day's work. Wow.
