If there are any sawyers looking for logs...you might want to check out the
logs at 10666 Cleveland School Rd. (1010). There are @ 15-20 what looks to
be oak logs that have been there for 2-3 weeks now. Might be free to anyone
that would haul them off. Some are of good size.

This address is @ 1-1/2 miles east of hwy 42 towards Smithfield. It is really
easy to find.

From I-40 east, take exit 312 (hwy 42) towards Fuquay-Varina, turn left at
CVS pharmacy (Cleveland School Rd or 1010 as it is also called), continue to
address. Will be on the left side.

Hope someone can use this info. :icon_thum

Archie - any idea of the diameters of the logs? If it's 36" or over, I may be interested.

Thx.

Scott,

I really don't know for sure but I will take a closer look next time I go past.
Some of them seem to be fairly large (to me anyway).

Thanks,

Scott let me know if this pans out - I'm good to haul about 1500 BF back to you place on my little log trailer.

Thanks

Scott,

Finally had a reason to go that way again. They are still there just waiting
for someone to take them.

I'm sorry to say that the logs were in the 2'-2 1/2' range and not in the
3' or larger range that you wanted.

I stopped at a church outside Greensboro today and saw the prettiest 3 1/2 foot diameter white oak on the ground. It was clear as can be for about thirty feet and...

There is a white oak tree that is between three and four feet at the trunk at the end of my road. It is a beautiful tree. I have thought about asking the man to sell it to me so I could get the lumber cut out of it. I don't know what it is worth or what it would cost to do it though.

UMMPH! And I thought THIS was bad! One of my wife's family members is in house construction and is also a fellow scrollsawer. He went to a high end job site recently, where the house would have exposed beams. He saw one of the cut-offs being carried toward the dumpster! He grabbed it, brought home and gave it to me.

Canadian Cedar 5'x 8" x 8". Yep, 5 ft long!
