Dennis pointed out the high position of the dovetail board. Kenny had been laying out the dovetails and I was getting out my phone to make a photo, when I made the shot he had already picked up the saw and started cutting. Yes, of course the board was chattering. I reminded him to lower the board in the vice for cutting and he did. There is a lot to pay attention to and remember when you are first learning to use hand tools. But, a lot of progress was made today and now it is time to continue the practice at home.


And that reminds me I still need to build a Moxon vise.

Thank you Mike! It was a really fun day. I’ll make sure to practice doing 30 straight cuts a day, lol! I learned a ton about these techniques and hope to keep building on it!
