THe one that looks like a standing squiggly line --- how is that turned? it seems more like carved to my untrained eye.

I think the bowties were put in prior to turning. Making the bowties thick enough to be able to be complete for the inside and outside radiuses is essential I'm sure. An amazing piece, as are all of the work shown!
