It is interesting to note that $150 is what the complete Model 10ER Shop Smith tool sold for new back in the early 50's. If you want an OK lathe, and it's in great condition it would be worth about $100 at todays prices. For serious lathe work you would be much better off with a newer Delta or Powermatic lathe.

These were made by Magnus Machine Company, a different company than the presently available Shop Smith, and NONE of the parts are available for it, except from a local machine shop.

I have a model 10ER. They can be set up as an acceptable starter level lathe, a fair drill press, a fair horizontal boring machine, and an extremely dangerous table saw. Mine is mostly used as a lathe. Mine was set up only one time as a table saw, and it will never be again.
