In order to teach spoon carving I need to build some shaving horses.

It seems some others would like to build their own horse too.

So, how about a shaving horse workshop on Saturday April 2nd?

Let me know ahead and I can pick up a 2 x 10 for you to build a portable horse or if you want to get your own wood for a different design I can help, advise or get out of your way.

Hi Mike - This sounds like a good excuse to take a ride up to your new place. PM your address to me and I'll try to make it. :icon_thum

Mike I wish....
Sure you don't need visit the western part of the state and see how
these would turn out??? Wonder how a western made one would compare
to one you made at home... :widea:
Keep up the good work and sharing! One of these days....

I was hoping to try to make it, but there is just too much going on. Besides that, depending on how I prioritize various projects, I may actually get mine done by then.

So, is this 3 people, for sure?

If that is all then I will do this at my place. If there were more we could go to Bill's shop. But I can handle 3 at my place and I won't have to travel.

Let me know by Wednesday afternoon and then I'll send directions.

Oh, and if you want me to pick up the lumber let me know. For the light weight horse, like I travel with, you would need one 2 x 10 at least 8 feet or 10 feet will be better.

I have some thick hardwood lumber you can buy if you want a nicer one.

Hey Mike - I ran this past Carol this morning and was reminded (told :wink_smil) that I have other plans for this Saturday. :wsad:

Sorry to miss it but must keep peace in the family!
