Sanded this bowl to 1200 grit. Seems to bring a better shine to the piece.
Finished with three coats of wipe on polyester.

Great looking bowl. :icon_thum
I thought polyester was used to make socks and leisure suits. I didn't know it was used as a wood finish. :wsmile:

Thanks to all that commented.
I have to thank "The Segmenter" on you tube for his great explanations of building a segmented bowl.
This bowl is 5" high, the top diameter is 6" and the bottom ring is 3".
All the rings are 12 segments.
The bottom ring has a 5/8" hole that is filled with a dowel.
The woods used is cherry, walnut, maple, mahogany, purple heart and canary wood.

To Gotha6, what kind I say.:5sigh:

I used to make bottoms like that, but too many of them was having problems with weather changes.
Now I use floating bottoms, except on small quick ones I use a one piece bottom.
Here is one of the last ones I did that way, and you can see I am going to have to cut the bottom out and replace it.
