Been on the lookout for a taper file small enough to sharpen an old 15-16tpi dovetail saw I bought for the express purpose of learning to sharpen one. Nobody carries a small enough file though, except for a $23 kit of needle files from the BORG, which is about twice as much as it would cost to have it sharpened.

Until I stumbled across a small file set at Harbor Freight the other day for $3. It includes a 3-4" taper file that is beginning to put some bite back in my saw's teeth. Figured I'd pass it along.

Yeah, they're easy to find online, but generally costs as much to ship as the file. Just wanted to pass on a possible cheap local source.

Thanks for sharing the tip Tim, I bought the HF set a while back and they have been very handy including touching up router bits. :wsmile:
