Raised panels on the shaper

Just did up these photos so I thought I would share them here. This is a shop-made fence for doing raised panels safely. Edgeband a piece of 3/4 plywood with hard wood like maple. Drill a hole for the spindle. Clamp the plywood. Install the cutter and lower the cutter into the wood to make a matching divot. Do this several times, resetting the plywood each time so the divot will be larger than the cutter. Bandsaw out a front guard and you're good to go. This rig makes it impossible for the edge of the wood to dig in because there's no fence gap to fight.

That's pretty slick; the upper guard keeps the panel from raising up. Thanks for sharing. Great photo detail too.
