Wife bought some new solar lights a couple of weeks ago, to go in the back yard around the fence. As I was not looking forward to mowing and weedeating around them, as a test, I zip-tied them in place to see if we liked the results. We liked how they looked, so I played around with some scrap 8/4 maple, 4" x 6". Drilled 1" hole in one end, 2" hole in other, leaving 1/2" on the end.

Drilled and tapped for 1/4-20 bolt, then split lengthwise down the middle. Applied couple coats of spar urethane, then pressed around the fencepost, tightened bolt lightly, then inserted the light post before final tightening.

I made 3 of these, still have to work on 2 more for the corner posts, these are larger diameter, 2-3/8" i think...
