this will be my first bigger furniture project in a LONG time, but something I am really looking forward to.


now trying to decide what I should make it out of. Considering Walnut..but looking for any recommendations.... want to make a run tomorrow to the hardwood store or anchor hardwood unless someone has another good source.

The one I did awhile ago was actually from a Woodsmith edition. It is very similar to the design MarkE posted.

I did this one out of red oak.....

Betcha you will get a lot of enjoyment out of this project! And yes, one done in walnut would be pretty awesome.

Even pine can look good. I made one 40 years ago from poplar that was full of greens and purples. My oldest still has it, I think.
