Long story short, I need to find something similar to P&L no. 38 to finish a wormy maple dresser and my favorite finish seems to have been discontinued some time ago.

The attributes about this varnish that I want to replicate are its minimal yellowing, clarity and ease of rubbing out.

Thx!

Interesting response from Chris since Formbys has been out of business for awhile. I found this out recently when I tried to buy some. A can is going for $100 on eBay.

Havent used it in years either. I remember this from a discussion a very long time ago. Ill bet General finishes has something comparable. ArmRSeal maybe?

Arm-R-Seal may add more yellowing than the OP desires. Other products to consider might be Odie's Oil, True Oil or Rubio (latter two are available at Klingspor's Woodworking Shop.
