Porter Cable Sander Question

I purchased a used porter cable sander recently. After I removed the hook and loop sandpaper from the machine, I cannot get the new sandpaper to stay attached. Just as the sander gets up to speed the sandpaper comes off. I have tried cleaning the hook portion with a brush. Any ideas on what might help?

You may need to replace the pad. If the previous user got it to hot, the velcro stuff may have melted or something.

I bought a pad from HD a couple of years ago.

Replaced the pad on my PC random orbit 5" disc. There are 2 types that I know of, one being more flexible allowing it to follow a slight contour. Got mine at Klingspors, around $12-13 as I recall. Woodcraft should have them also.:rolf:
