Plywood & the BORG

I needed some 1/4 inch plywood so went to the BORG. I bought a 4 x 8 sheet of 1/4 inch sanded plywood ($26.02) and a 4 x 8 sheet of 5 mil underlayment ($13.98)
I got them home and while putting them away decided I should have saved some dollars and just bout the underlayment. It was much nicer grain and no putty patches.
Ain't taking back the sanded stuff but sure gonna look closer next time I buy.
Yeah, no pictures cause it was suppertime when I got home.

I've used the underlayment for years for cabinet backs. It's cool seeing all those little "X's" on back of cabinets

I use it for drawer bottoms if the drawer is small or will only have fairly light contents (like clothes). Sometimes the grain is very attractive. It seems obviously to be wood that doesn't grow around here but it looks nice, seems to have nearly no voids, and is strong enough for what I'm using it for. I cut grooves for the drawer bottom with the blade normally on my table saw in two passes so the fact that it is thinner isn't a big deal.
