Other Things To Do While in Town for the PICNIC

With the picnic less than two weeks away, you might want to add a couple things to your "to do list" while in the capital area. Klingspor's Cary store is less than a half hour from picnic site. Tour the visitor's center and dam for Jordon Lake. "Got To Be Festivile over at the State Fairgrounds. Rides for the kids, food (which you won't need after the picnic,) antique tractors, and fireworks both Friday and Saturday night. Plus there is a large flea market at fairgrounds both Saturday and Sunday. See ya at the picnic!

The picnic is also not far from the Woodwright's tool store in Pittsborough. Not sure of the exact hours that they are open, but if you're into hand tools and have not been there, you are in for a welcome treat.

There is a minor charge per car to enter the park - I think it is about $5 with a senior discount. We don't charge anything, but the park needs to sustain the great atmosphere they provide by charging a minor entrance fee. A great venue and well worth the minor fee to park there.

He's a walking encyclopedia of hand tools and a visit is really worthwhile, particularly of you're looking for something specific.
