One single saw nut…

I would like to find a single saw nut to replace the broken one in an old handsaw. It looks like the missing one is the “logo” nut as I have the slotted piece and hole for missing nut is larger than the other three. The diameter is 3/4”. Any ideas where I might find such a thing without dropping $20? Not a precious saw just one I acquired from my Dad’s arsenal. Thank you.

Hi Chris,

On the left side of McMaster-Carr's on-line catalog, you can select the material you desire, then drill down by screw diameter and length as shown below:

I purchased some from Amazon that look like polished steel or plated. They worked on some old saws I had that were missing hardware.

Drop in to a Habitat Restore and buy a five dollar handsaw. Four nuts for five bucks. Plus you have a saw to practice sharpening skills on.

Thanks all for the replies and suggestions. Jim was kind enough to share his spare. I’m still going to take Bruce’s suggestion and stop by Habitat though….
