For November show us pics of art you've made. This can be any kind of art!

This contest will end November 28. Voting will run November 29-30.

Rules:
- Must be created within the last 60 months. That's 5 years
- One submission per creator/artist per category (month). Pick one piece. If you have a set and want to show how it matches okay but you are only entering one piece. Hi-light that one piece.
- Members vote for winners so your submittal 'marketing' post should reflect quality. Limited to 3 photos and 500 words. One post per submittal.
- Any Q&A regarding a submittal should be handled by separate post, or DM/PM. Expect questions to be deleted. Separate posts do not clutter the contest thread, avoids vote biasing, and everyone can share How's It Made (Resources forum content).
- Each creator can win a contest no more than once every six months.
- In case of a tie, a judge panel will make the selection. Judges' decision is final. Judges will remain anonymous.
- Each monthly contest will have two winners, novice and experienced/journeyman/veteran/pro. Novice is defined as <3 years woodworking, cumulative. "Experienced" is all others. Submitters must indicate if they are novice; honor system applies. If you don't declare, you're an experienced woodworker.

I guess I will go first. Intarsia Eagle made in 2022 and donated to NCWW for the raffle. Design by the late Judy Gale Roberts. Woods include yellow-heart, holly and of course walnut.

Oh yes, I am experienced.

I'll enter this one with a marquetry project cut out on the chevalet. I chose to pair the NC state bird (cardinal) and state flower (dogwood). Each of the four copies consists of about 70 individual pieces fitted together. A variety of wood species were used to get the colors. You can read about the process in this post.

I hope I sent this to the correct forum. It is for the November Contest. Found this in a 2008 Woodworking magazine, Japanese style bench. Wife's niece wanted something to go at the foot of her bed. Took about 50 hours. Western red cedar, Wenge dividers between slats, and Wenge tenon inserts and plugs. 4 coats GF clear acrylic satin . Experienced woodworker. BTW I am not attempting to advertise the cedar supplier, but if you need any, cedar direct in Spindale NC.

This is a blanket chest of cherry with chip carved basswood panels to commemorate our 40th wedding anniversary. Back story - this project was started and got shelved for almost 2 years due do design indecisions. The first decision was to redo the front face frame, substituting straight stiles with curved. This presented a challenge in getting the profile routed but I got it done by using a slotted bit after it was glued up. I rabbetted out the back of the groove so the panels could be slipped from the back, as I knew I wasn't going to get them on the first try. Try one was rusty chip carving + I forgot to seal them before staining. I recarved the center panel 3 times.

The frames were finished by staining with tinted shellac, followed by satin lacquer.

The inside is lined with red cedar off our property, ship lapped.

I've done a lot of furniture projects, but this one I was the most satisfied with.

Here's a Flicker Cabinet I built during my final semester at Haywood Community College, curly maple, walnut flicker, gold leaf sun. I built three small maple boxes for the inside to resemble a town/small farm/neighborhood.
